Hit Man R — Inspired by the unbelievable true story, a strait-laced professor (Glen Powell) uncovers his hidden talent as a fake hit man in undercover police stings. He meets his match in a client (Adria Arjona) who steals his heart and ignites a powder keg of deception, delight, and mixed-up identities. (Netflix, June 24th Premiere) Trigger Warning TV-MA — In this action thriller, Jessica Alba stars as a skilled Special Forces commando who takes ownership of her beloved father's bar after he suddenly dies. She soon finds herself at odds with a violent gang running rampant in her hometown and uncovers a dangerous conspiracy. (Netflix, June 21st Premiere)

STREAMING HEADLINES

Disney to Begin Password-Sharing Crackdown This summer is when Disney streaming subscribers can expect to start seeing prompts to remind them that sharing their accounts is a violation of their user agreement. Agreements now specify that a Disney streaming account is only to be used in the household of the purchaser and that those who were found to be in violation of this rule risked having access to their account restricted. Disney will begin enforcing password-sharing rules in some countries in June before a wider launch in September, preventing users from using an account owned by someone outside their home. However, Disney will also introduce paid sharing later this year, allowing customers who don't want to kick sharers off their accounts to pay extra in order to let them continue watching without creating an account of their own. Roku Now Airing Live Major League Baseball Games for Free Roku has taken over the early Sunday Major League Baseball package that Peacock owned for the past two seasons. All of the games are available on The Roku Channel for free without blackout restrictions, and the games are available to stream on Roku devices and smart TVs, as well as via the Roku app on many other streaming devices. They'll run weekly through September 15th. Noah Garden, MLB deputy commissioner for business and media, said, "With free games available to anyone, MLB games on Roku will be widely accessible to fans. Since Roku serves as an entertainment gateway for millions, this partnership offers a valuable new promotional and distribution platform for MLB games and content."

ORIGINAL SERIES

The Acolyte TV-14 — This Star Wars Original series will introduce viewers to the High Republic Era, a time when the Jedi Order was at its height, but the Sith lurked in the shadows. The Acolyte inverts the typical formula of the franchise since this is the story of the Sith as they rise up against the Jedi — not the other way around. (Disney+, June 4th Premiere) My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman TV-MA — In Season 5 of this series, Dave sits down with Grammy winner Miley Cyrus and basketball icon Charles Barkley for a fresh set of revealing interviews about their lives and careers. Each season of this talk show, which launched in 2018, has been nominated for the Emmy for hosted nonfiction series or special. (Netflix, June 12th Premiere) Presumed Innocent TV-MA — Jake Gyllenhaal stars in and executive produced this eight-part limited series. Based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Scott Turow, it takes viewers on a gripping journey through the horrific murder that upends the Chicago Prosecuting Attorneys' office when chief deputy prosecutor Rusty Sabich (played by Gyllenhaal) is suspected of the crime. The series explores obsession, sex, politics, and the power and limits of love, as the accused fights to hold his family and marriage together. (Apple TV+, June 12th Premiere)

POPCORN NIGHT

Wonder PG — Everybody should watch this feel-good movie from 2017 at least once. Based on the best-selling novel of the same name by R.J. Palacio, it tells the inspiring and heartwarming story of August (Auggie) Pullman, who was born with facial differences that, up until now, have prevented him from going to a mainstream school. Auggie becomes the most unlikely of heroes when he enters the local fifth grade. As his new classmates and the larger community all struggle to find their compassion and acceptance, Auggie's extraordinary journey will unite them all and prove you can't blend in when you were born to stand out. Wonder stars Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson as Auggie's parents, Jacob Tremblay as Auggie, and Mandy Patinkin as the school principal. (Netflix, June 8th Premiere)

Ariel TV-Y — The new series centers on princess Ariel and her fun-filled, action-packed mermaid adventures with her friends in the mystical underwater country of Atlantica, which takes its cue from the Caribbean. It also features Ariel's two best friends, mer-children Lucia and Fernie, and lots of other adorable sea creatures. (Disney+, June 28th Premiere) Ultraman: Rising PG — With Tokyo under siege from rising monster attacks, baseball star Ken Sato reluctantly returns home to take on the mantle of #Ultraman. But the titanic superhero meets his match when he reluctantly adopts a 35-foot-tall, fire-breathing baby kaiju. Sato must rise above his ego to balance work and parenthood while protecting the baby from forces bent on exploiting her for their own dark plans. (Netflix, June 14th Premiere) Big City Greens the Movie: Spacecation TV-Y7 — When thrill-seeker Cricket tricks his family into taking a "road trip" in space, chaos in the cosmos quickly ensues! Despite growing frustrations between Cricket and his dad, Bill, the two must learn to appreciate each other's unique perspectives in order to prevent Big City from being destroyed by an interstellar disaster. (Disney+, June 6th Premiere)

DOCUMENTARIES AND DOCUSERIES

I Am: Celine Dion PG — Directed by Academy Award nominee Irene Taylor, this documentary gives us a raw and honest behind-the-scenes look at the iconic superstar's struggle with a life-altering illness. Serving as a love letter to her fans, this inspirational documentary highlights the music that has guided her life while also showcasing the resilience of the human spirit. (Prime Video, June 25th Premiere) How to Rob a Bank TV-MA — In this true-crime documentary, a brilliant and charismatic rebel in 1990s Seattle, Scott Scurlock, pulls off an unprecedented string of bank robberies straight out of the movies. In fact, law enforcement officials gave him the nickname Hollywood. But like so many heist movies, the good times couldn't last forever. (Netflix, June 5th Premiere) BRATS NR — If you were coming of age in the 1980s, the Brat Pack was near the center of your cultural awareness. But for those experiencing the Brat Pack from the inside, it was something quite different. Director Andrew McCarthy reunites with Demi Moore, Rob Lowe, Emilio Estevez, Ally Sheedy, and more for this original documentary. (Hulu, June 13th Premiere)
