(Netflix, January 12th premiere)  Society of the Snow R — This film from Spain is based on the remarkable true story of Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571 that crashed on a glacier in the Andes on October 13th, 1972. Only 29 of the 45 passengers, members of a rugby team, survived the crash. Those who did found themselves in one of the world's toughest environments to survive, forced to make extremely tough decisions. (Netflix, January 4th premiere)  Role Play R — Emma (Kaley Cuoco) has a wonderful husband David (David Oyelowo) and two kids in the suburbs of New Jersey. She also has a secret life as an assassin for hire — a secret her husband discovers when the couple decide to spice up their marriage with a little role play.  The Equalizer 3 R — This film was released in U.S. theaters in September 2023 to generally positive reviews, becoming a commercial success like its two predecessors. You can now witness the final chapter of the story on Netflix. Since giving up his life as a government assassin, Robert McCall (Denzel Washington) has struggled to reconcile the horrific things he's done in the past and finds a strange solace in serving justice on behalf of the oppressed. Finding himself surprisingly at home in Southern Italy, he discovers his new friends are under the control of local crime bosses. As events turn deadly, McCall knows what he has to do —become his friends' protector by taking on the mafia. (Netflix, January 1st premiere) |
